How Does a Person Become a Catholic?
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program available now

The Catholic church warmly welcomes new members through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).

If you have been thinking about becoming Catholic, or if you know of a friend or family member that may be interested in becoming Catholic, you are invited to learn more about the process. .

For more details, contact Teresa Hurd , Director of Christian Initiation, 517-543-4319 ext 32.

RCIA is a process that includes prayer and worship experiences, church doctrine, scripture study, faith sharing, and service opportunities. It is designed for persons:

  1. who have never been baptized,
  2. who have been baptized in another faith denomination and wish to continue their faith journey as Catholics,
  3. who have been baptized Catholic but have not been brought up in the Catholic faith.

A series of inquiry sessions is provided to answer your questions and introduce you to the RCIA process.
